Job Purpose 

To serve as an industry advisor across the organization, ensuring NISC continues to be recognized as an industry leader. This position serves as a leader in building industry knowledge, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and advising on business practices and challenges that impact prospects and Members. Through ownership, influence, and collaboration, this role helps drive effective solutions that support sustained Member success and satisfaction. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with the Sales team as an industry expert to proactively analyze risks and opportunities throughout the sales process, ensuring prospects align with a successful and satisfied NISC Member profile.
  • Partner with Professional Services (Implementations) as an industry advisor, technical reviewer, and process owner to ensure Sales commitments are realistic, attainable, and support successful implementation outcomes.
  • Proactively identify operational breakdowns, bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and ineffective practices impacting prospects or Members, and take ownership to drive resolution by engaging and facilitating the appropriate stakeholders.  Leverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role.
  • Create, manage, and oversee feedback loops for prospects and Members by analyzing trends, priorities, and root causes, translating insights into actionable recommendations that inform internal decision-making across the organization.
  • Lead and own internal efforts to identify, define, and expand NISC’s value proposition and competitive advantage, ensuring alignment across teams and consistent delivery of value.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to identify and create industry opportunities that increase Member utilization, satisfaction, and NISC’s market position within both new and targeted markets.
  • Serve as a leader and strong collaborator in resolving prospect and Member challenges by fostering shared ownership, guiding cross-functional problem-solving efforts, and ensuring issues are resolved through sustainable improvements that prevent recurrence.
  • Represent NISC with industry associations by building and maintaining trusted relationships that reinforce NISC’s reputation as a progressive, credible, and valued technology partner.
  • Proactively engage with industry partners to ensure alignment, coordination, and collaboration that support increased Member utilization, integration, and long-term success.
  • Serve as an internal stakeholder in the creation and ongoing maintenance of the NISC Member profile, ensuring it reflects the characteristics of a successful, satisfied, and sustainable partnership.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred: 

  • 10+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Mastery level knowledge of business-related software applications and services.
  • Mastery level knowledge of the Utility and/or Broadband industries.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior telephone/email etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with Member/Customers.
  • Superior research and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Superior ability to troubleshoot.
  • Excellent ability to mentor others.
  • Superior level ability to demonstrate initiative & accountability.
  • Superior ability to multi-task and time manage.
  • Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.  
  • Superior presentation and training skills.

Education Preferred: 
 
Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
