Role Overview:

The Industrialisation & Legrand Way Manager leads site-level industrial engineering and continuous improvement. The role drives industrialization strategies, process optimization, cost and lead time reduction, and Industry 4.0 initiatives, while overseeing CAPEX, product manufacturability, production engineering, and facility management.

The manager leads and develops the team, coordinates cross-functional activities, and fosters a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.

 

Position of the function in the organization:

  • Direct report to: Operations Manager USystems

  • Team composition: Industrialisation technicians, Improvement project officers, IT support

  • Location: Bedford, UK

  • Start Date: as soon as possible

  • Employment Type: Full-time, permanent position

  • Working model: site-based

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Industrialization Strategy

  • Define, lead, and monitor the industrialization strategy for existing and new products.

  • Ensure, track, and document manufacturability and process readiness.

  • Oversee and coordinate the smooth transfer from Product Development to Manufacturing.

  • Support, guide, and review product release processes and industrial readiness assessments.

  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment across teams and functions.

 

  1. Legrand Way & Operational Excellence

  • Deploy, embed, and monitor Legrand Way standards within the site.

  • Drive and track continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Group methodologies.

  • Implement and oversee structured performance management practices.

  • Promote and standardize processes, tools, and workflows across teams.

  • Foster and reinforce a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.

     

  1. Optimization & Standardization

  • Analyze and monitor existing production and assembly processes to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Define and implement standardized methods, control points, and best practices.

  • Develop, maintain, and track process documentation and work instructions.

  • Support and coordinate internal logistics and workflow improvements.

  • Drive improvements in efficiency, quality, cost performance, and lead times.

 

  1. Industrial Investment & Capability Development

  • Plan and oversee short, medium, and long-term CAPEX initiatives.

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of approved industrial and facility investments, ensuring timely execution.

  • Identify and drive opportunities for process modernization and capability enhancement.

  • Monitor and evaluate relevant technological developments in industrial operations, recommending adoption where appropriate.

 

  1. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Arrange and schedule daily and weekly team activities.

  • Track progress of industrialization and improvement projects against milestones.

  • Lead regular team and cross-functional meetings to review project status and operational priorities.

  • Contribute to building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead and develop the industrialization continuous improvement team, coaching and supporting capability development.

  • Drive structured project execution and ensure timely implementation of initiatives.

  • Support training and capability development related to industrial standards.

 

Additional information:

  • Close collaboration with Production, Supply Chain & Logistics, Purchasing, QHSE, Maintenance.

  • Active participation in product release and industrialization processes.

  • Responsibility for facility management and workplace infrastructure planning.

  • Ensuring strong safety awareness and cost efficiency when implementing improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Technical Business Administration or Engineering.

  • Professional experience: Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing, industrialization, or production environments.

  • Technical expertise: Strong background in process industrialization, manufacturing processes, and process control principles.

  • Tools & systems: Experience with CAD systems (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor).

  • Project & team management: Proven leadership in technical teams, cross-functional project management, and execution of improvement initiatives.

  • Work approach: Results-oriented, improvement-driven, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Technical Business Administration or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrialization, or production environments
