About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Industrial IT Systems Administrator / Field IT Support Specialist to support field operations by providing on-site IT, networking, and control system support. This role includes monitoring support tickets, maintaining reliable internet connectivity (Fiber and Starlink), supporting PLC-based control systems, and performing general networking and PC support. The position works closely with field teams and engineers to troubleshoot issues, support system integrations, and ensure consistent, high-availability IT operations across job sites.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor ticketing system for technical support requests, incidents and projects in assigned office, job site and/or region.
  • Facilitate internet connectivity for new office locations, including setup of routers, firewalls, and initial network configurations to ensure quick and secure onboarding. 
  • Offer general PC support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Ensure reliable Internet connectivity using technologies such as Fiber Optic and Starlink.
  • Collaborate with field staff, control system engineers, SCADA teams, and management to address IT-related concerns, ensure seamless connectivity, and provide solutions.
  • Troubleshoot system integration issues and maintain high data availability.
  • Maintain and update documentation related to IT infrastructure, system architecture, configurations, and workflows.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance of IT systems.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of new IT equipment and systems.
  • Provide training and support to field staff and operations personnel on IT-related topics and new monitoring tools as needed.
  • Ensure data reliability, redundancy, and security in system design.

Qualifications

Experience/Education

  • Experience with networking installation and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in general PC support and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Internet connectivity technologies such as Fiber Optic and Starlink.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a field environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Certifications in relevant IT fields preferred: CompTIA A+ and Network+.Experience working in industrial or field environments preferred.
