Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for ensuring effective flow across the JPS organization in our Statesville, NC facility. This position will report directly to the Director, Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Review current production schedules and processes to find potential improvements to the planning process and production costs
  • Monitor product flow and implementing changes to the processes to increase productivity and quality standards.
  • Evaluate current manufacturing practices, manage production schedules, and improve efficiency and Quality
  • Enforce quality control to reduce waste
  • Assist the Business System Leaders (Statesville Leadership team) with projects as needed
  • Assist leaders in driving safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory metrics in their respective areas, and help establish measures of success.
  • Participate in root cause, corrective action process as needed and ensure that business is conducted at the highest level of integrity
  • Support Human Resource initiatives across the business (engagement activities and career fairs)
  • Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and demonstrate high integrity in all aspects of business
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with peers, key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • BS/BA Degree required in related field
  • 0-2 years experience, co-op, and/or internship 
  • Experience in 6 Sigma Training / Experience preferred
  • Ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations with multiple projects
  • Travel as needed, up to 25%

JPS Composite Materials (JPS, www.jpscm.com) is a wholly owned operating company within the Steel Partners Diversified Industrial Segment. JPS is a manufacturer of high-performance fabrics servicing the aerospace, military, commercial, and industrial markets.

 

The company’s materials are found in a multitude of composite matrix applications including commercial aircraft interiors, radomes for commercial and military aircraft, ballistic applications for military vests and vehicles as well as electronic applications including automobile sensors and telecommunication antenna. JPS has over 60 years of experience in our markets and is the primary supplier of these products in North America.

 

The corporate headquarters are in Anderson, SC with manufacturing facilities located in North and South Carolina.
