Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for Associate Level Industrial Engineer to be a part of the Ft Walton Beach Engineering team. This position is an opportunity to help Boeing work everything from KC-130H Refueling Tankers to F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets to V-22 rotorcraft,based out of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
In this exciting but challenging role, the selected candidate will support manufacturing, maintenance, modification, and upgrades of various programs while working with a cross functional team to analyze productivity, maintain the production schedule, recommend resource allocations, and implement lean solutions to optimize the production system.
In this role you will have knowledge of the interaction between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, and Business).
The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ability to work onsite 5 days a week
- Applies basic industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements
- Supports the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing operations and work flows
- Participates in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations
- Assists with designing, maintaining, and optimizing the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel
- Conducts basic work flow design and analysis. Develops simple models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders
- Supports research, design, develop, improve, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization
- Supports implementation plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods
- Documents product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices
- Supports the preparation of operations plans, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met
- Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices
- Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support
- Follows compliance requirements with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 1+ years of experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes
- 1+ years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment
- 1+ years of experience with Earned Valuable Management (EVM)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with effective time management, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working in a fast paced, collaborative team environment
- 3+ years of experience working with production planning and scheduling, maintaining shop dashboards, presenting shop status
- Familiarity working with Lean Manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles
- Familiarity in developing and deploying standard processes
- Proficient in structured problem solving
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
- 3+ years of experience working with data sets from a wide variety of sources such as SQL server or Oracle preferred
- Experience with Aircraft modifications, maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul (MRO)
- Experience in program set up, execution planning, operations planning, and production support to include nonconformances
- Experience with Tableau
