Engaging in an environment where design decisions directly impact the lives of end users, this mid-level position focuses on traditional product development with a strong emphasis on user-centred design. The role involves translating concepts into locally appropriate products, refining existing items, and delivering robust designs.
Working under the mentorship and supervision of the Head of Design, the successful candidate will assist across a wide variety of tasks within the design department. This on-site role includes collaborating closely with internal and external clinical teams, suppliers, and internal production staff responsible for product assembly, customisation, and upholstery.
Develop product improvements and execute product customisations to meet functional requirements.
Draft technical assembly instructions, user documentation, and detailed technical drawings for production teams and external suppliers.
Maintain the design department's filing system in compliance with the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS).
Accompany the clinical team as a technician during clinics and assist with product field testing.
Work directly with the production team to maintain, verify, and improve overall product quality.
Requirements
Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design (or equivalent).
Experience: 4 years of experience as an Industrial Designer with a technical background.
Communication: Excellent proficiency in English.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience and safety in using a variety of workshop tools accurately.
Licensing: Valid driver's licence.
Attributes: Self-motivated, inquisitive, highly attentive to detail, with strong problem-solving abilities expressed verbally, on paper, or through prototypes.
Working knowledge of electronics an advantage
