Position Summary:
Tidal Basin is seeking qualified candidates for the Individual Assistance Case Manager position supporting our client and applicants impacted by disaster events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Implement and coordinate the Individual Assistance Programs
  • Perform intake, and assessments, gather documents to establish disaster program eligibility including payments and withdrawals/denials
  • Review, analyze, evaluate, and coordinate eligibility determinations
  • Coordinate eligibility and payments through the Federal Disaster System
  • Conduct review of cases to ensure proper processing
  • Mediate complex problem resolution
  • Function as a liaison and applicant advocate
  • Maintain a high standard to protect client information
  • Provide resources and referrals to clients to meet their disaster-related unmet needs
  • Provide assistance to applicants throughout the application process
  • Maintain client-related data systems, including case notes and a complete system of record entries
  • Work collaboratively with a team
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and a desire to adhere to strict boundaries and professional ethics in the care of others, awareness of the impact of a disaster on the community, family, and individual
  • Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements
  • Other tasks as assigned

Experience and Education:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • It is preferred that individuals possess a minimum of one year experience as a member of a state or federal recovery operation, or equivalent experience commensurate with the ability to perform the necessary duties
  • Basic knowledge of the FEMA Disaster Case Management Program is desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications and Adobe Acrobat
