About the position
We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Indirect Tax specialist to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. The Indirect Tax position lies within the European Indirect Tax team. We are looking for an individual that would like to specialize in VAT Compliance, with exposure to other Indirect Tax developments (e.g. environmental). The candidate will be responsible for managing multiple VAT registrations across the Kraft Heinz EU region (e.g. Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom and IE, France, Nordics (SE and DK), Spain, Poland, Italy, Czech) . You'll be working in a high performing team, alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You'll be reporting toJoe Jayson, Associate Director Indirect Tax . Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal senior stakeholders.
In brief, you are responsible for:
Compliance:

  • Support the VAT European Indirect Taxes Manager in the day-to-day functions related to the management of VAT compliance, working alongside European Finance teams and VAT Global Business Services (GBS) located in India.
  • Coordinating with GBS VAT team, ensuring appropriate data reviews and checks have been completed prior to the timely submission of monthly/quarterly VAT, INTRASTAT & ECSL returns for EU entities ensuring that they accurately reflect the transactions within tax reporting and timely payments request are raised to Treasury when required.
  • Collaborate with KH European Financial Controllers for the monthly/quarterly VAT Balance Sheet reconciliations.


General:

  • Co-ordinate responses to Tax Authorities in case of declaration queries and VAT audits.
  • Assist the VAT manager in advising EU financial controllers and analysts on the implementation of upcoming VAT legislative changes such as making tax digital, new SAF-T obligations, e-invoicing, etc.
  • Identify VAT tax classifications for new finished goods/raw materials/packaging.
  • Collaborate closely with VAT Consultants with regards to data reviews and complex VAT issues should they arise.
  • Collaborate with the business on the new rules related to environmental taxes (e.g., plastic and packaging taxes, carbon measures, consumer taxes on alcohol, sugar, etc.) and validate the required submissions Support the VAT manager in handling any ad-hoc VAT requests raised by the business.
  • Participate in SAP regression testing related to VAT rates changes/new implementations as required.
  • Work alongside AP team to ensure VAT data is accurate.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in a VAT/Financial Accounting department with relevant VAT experience working with multiple regions
  • Proven knowledge of VAT/Other IDT and experience partnering with internal and external VAT consultants.
  • Ability to understand the double entry for the integrated system-driven accounting postings.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic organization, embracing change and working independently Fluent in English, other languages are a plus!
