Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Manager to join our dynamic finance team at Centric Software. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing indirect tax compliance and strategy, particularly in relation to VAT across various countries, U.S. sales tax regulations, and expertise in utilizing Avalara for tax automation. This role is critical to ensuring our compliance with global tax obligations while optimizing our indirect tax position in a high growth fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Indirect Tax Compliance:

• Oversee the preparation, filing, and management of indirect tax returns, including VAT, GST, and U.S. sales tax, for multiple jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with all relevant indirect tax regulations, including analyzing and interpreting VAT laws and U.S. sales tax statutes for various states
• Work with AP team to ensure timely payments

Avalara Expertise:

• Utilize Avalara software to manage tax calculations, reporting, and compliance processes efficiently
• Implement and manage tax automation initiatives using Avalara’s tools to optimize workflows and reduce compliance risks

International VAT Management:

• Monitor and analyze VAT requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and timely submissions
• Collaborate with international teams to assess VAT implications for cross-border transactions and provide guidance on compliance issues

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Prepare and present detailed reports on indirect tax metrics, trends, and compliance status for management review
• Maintain Indirect tax calendar for all jurisdictions
• Respond to tax notices on a timely basis and maintain a tracker for it

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with finance, accounting, legal, and business operations to provide indirect tax guidance and ensure proper accounting for tax-related transactions
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for Indirect tax accounts
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and local tax authorities as necessary

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience: Minimum of [Insert Years, e.g., 7-10 years of experience in indirect tax management, with a strong focus on VAT and U.S. sales tax compliance in a multinational environment
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience using Avalara for tax automation and compliance processes is essential
• Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of indirect tax regulations, compliance requirements, and tax planning strategies in multiple jurisdictions, especially relating to VAT and U.S. sales tax
• Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration across departments
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and tax-related software
