About the team
Our International Indirect Tax Advisory function is responsible for determining the taxability of new products, managing indirect tax audits and relationships with local tax authorities, and partnering with our indirect tax systems and compliance leads on day-to-day matters. We work cross-functionally across finance, product, and engineering — and we're looking for a sharp, collaborative tax professional to join us.
What you'll do
The position is based in Dublin or London and reports to the International Indirect Tax Advisory Lead.
- Serve as an indirect tax subject matter expert (global VAT/GST) for Stripe's business and finance teams, managing aspects of our indirect tax planning and operations
- Support Stripe's international expansion, including advising on new market entry and product launches
- Participate in policy matters affecting indirect taxes internationally
- Collaborate with indirect tax compliance leads and international accounting teams on VAT/GST compliance, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of compliance processes
- Support the management of indirect tax audits and other matters involving tax authorities internationally
- Partner with product and engineering teams to define requirements and contribute to the design of tax solutions for our users
- Drive indirect tax awareness across the business, including training and communication on changes to indirect tax legislation, systems, policies, and processes
- Communicate complex indirect tax concepts clearly and accessibly to non-tax professionals across all levels of the organisation

Minimum requirements
- 4–6 years of relevant indirect tax experience, with strong knowledge of VAT/GST laws and regulations
- Bachelor's degree and a professional qualification in tax or law (e.g. CTA, ACA, AITI, ATT, or equivalent)
- Previous in-house experience within a multinational business, combined with legal or accountancy firm experience
- Experience with indirect taxes as they relate to the distribution of digital services and physical products
- Accounting experience and proficiency with ERP systems and data analytics tools
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly with all levels of management
- Project management experience; detail-oriented, with a track record of taking ownership of complex work
- Ability to extract, analyse, and review data and make sound recommendations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
- Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
Preferred qualifications
- An advanced degree (e.g. LLM in Tax, MSc in Accounting)
- Experience in technology, payments, or financial services
- Experience in a high-growth or rapidly scaling environment
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with a curious, close-knit team of tax professionals who care deeply about Stripe's tax challenges — and each other
