Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance/accounting personnel with several years of experience to gain and develop all-rounded experience in a fast growing listco in various areas include consolidation, management reporting and month end close. Candidates directly coming out from Big 4 are welcome. Immediate available highly preferred. Candidates with more experience will be considered Senior Accountant.
Key Area of Responsibility:
- Prepare tax returns and reports
- Responsible for preparing tax returns and reports for a variety of taxes, including WHT, value-added tax (VAT) and SST.
- Administer indirect tax laws
- Familiar with the laws and regulations governing indirect taxes and able to interpret these laws and regulations and apply them to the company's operations.
- Advise management on indirect tax matters:
- Able to advise management on a variety of indirect tax matters, such as tax planning, tax compliance, and tax litigation.
- Reconciliation of tax account:
- Able to maintain and perform reconciliation of tax account up-to-date.
- Developing and implementing tax strategies:
- Responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies that help the company save money on taxes.
- Support tax audits:
- Involves working with the auditor to understand the audit findings and to develop a plan to resolve any tax issues.
- Provide training to employees:
- Responsible for providing training to employees on indirect tax matters. This training may cover topics such as tax laws, tax compliance, and tax planning.
- Able to assist tax manager in ad-hoc task such as tax instalment payment
Major Challenges:
- Able to work under tight timeframes and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to work across multiple region with excellent written and verbal English skills
Key Working Contacts
- Work closely with tax agents supporting individual countries
- Part of a bigger group of the global tax team and provide support if required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Qualified CPA (highly preferred)
Relevant Experience
- At least 3 years of commercial
- Commercial experience in telecom MNC (highly preferred)
- Experience being part of a large accounting team and work with multiple overseas locations
Technical Know How
- Advanced level in MS Excel required, also strong in Word and Powerpoint skills
- Experience with large ERP / GL systems
