About the Role:

The Indirect Procurement Manager is responsible for delivering sustainable business value across assigned indirect-spend categories in Korea. The role partners closely with Business Units and key functions to lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities, balancing quality, service, cost competitiveness, risk management, sustainability, and protection of the CHANEL brand.

The role strengthens the local Source-to-Contract (S2C) process and supports Procure-to-Pay (P2P) compliance by applying Indirect Procurement policies, governance, and best practices. It develops and executes category and sourcing strategies, leads competitive tenders and negotiations, manages supplier performance and risk, and drives continuous improvement through data, stakeholder engagement, and digital procurement tools.

Working in close collaboration with Local Business Units, Regional and Global Indirect Procurement, Finance, Legal, Sustainability, and suppliers, the Indirect Procurement Manager acts as a trusted business partner—enabling efficient, compliant, and responsible purchasing decisions while creating measurable financial and non-financial value.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing and Value Creation

  • Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for assigned goods and services categories, including OPEX and CAPEX spend.
  • Conduct spend, market, supplier, and opportunity analysis to identify value-creation opportunities and define category strategies.
  • Lead end-to-end competitive sourcing processes, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, bid analysis, supplier selection, and award recommendations.
  • Lead commercial and contractual negotiations to achieve the optimal balance of total cost, quality, service, innovation, sustainability, and risk.
  • Deliver and track validated financial and non-financial value, including savings, process improvement, risk reduction, and sustainability outcomes.
  • Manage sourcing-project delivery through clear scope, milestones, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, risk management, and timely escalation.
  • Develop and maintain relevant sourcing, supplier, and performance KPIs to support continuous improvement and value visibility.

Business Partnering and Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted, effective partnerships with local Business Units and cross-functional stakeholders through clear, practical, and responsive procurement support.
  • Engage stakeholders early to clarify business requirements, demand plans, timelines, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Influence sourcing, supplier, and contracting decisions by presenting clear commercial analysis, options, risks, and recommendations.
  • Balance business urgency with CHANEL’s procurement governance, compliance, brand-protection, and risk-management requirements.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback and identify opportunities to improve service quality, process efficiency, and user experience.

Supplier Governance and Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain supplier segmentation, performance evaluation, and relationship-management mechanisms for assigned categories.
  • Identify contractual, commercial, operational, and supplier-risk issues; recommend and implement appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contractual terms and conditions, service levels, KPIs, and commercial arrangements through renewals and re-negotiations.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence in line with CHANEL requirements, including supplier-risk assessment, insurance, data privacy, IT security, compliance, and other relevant controls

Procurement Processes and Digital Enhancement

  • Reinforce adoption and compliance with the S2C and P2P processes across the Korea market.
  • Act as a local S2C/Coupa subject-matter resource, providing training, coaching, guidance, and change-management support to new and existing users.
  • Identify local Business Unit needs and improve the self-service procurement experience through practical guidance, tools, templates, and process improvements.
  • Provide constructive feedback to APAC and Global process owners to support ongoing development and maturity of Coupa and related procurement tools.

Sustainable and Responsible Procurement

  • Integrate ESG, sustainability, and responsible-procurement requirements into sourcing strategies, supplier selection, contracting, and supplier-management activities.
  • Support CHANEL’s Sustainability initiatives and ESG objectives through practical sourcing and supplier actions.
  • Use applicable supplier-risk tools and roadmaps to ensure Korea-based suppliers are assessed and appropriately qualified.
  • Support CSR audits, ESG due diligence, and corrective-action follow-up where relevant, in collaboration with Sustainability, Legal, Risk, and Business Units.
