Job DescriptionAs Indigenous Affairs Lead- QLD, you will be a highly trusted strategic leader and cultural advisor, building meaningful relationships across Sodexo Australia’s people, clients, and communities.
Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Affairs, you will:
Lead, mentor, and empower a talented Indigenous Affairs team across multiple portfolios.
Work closely with operations management understanding client service deliverables, reporting and monitoring performance outcomes.
Foster genuine engagement with Traditional Owners, Custodians, and community organisations to ensure their voices are reflected in our work.
Collaborate across Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR, Business Development, and Supply Chain to drive Indigenous employment, procurement, and community informed outcomes.
Provide cultural and strategic advice to support business development and operational excellence through effective team deliverables.
Participate in Sodexo Australia’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group as a valuable contributor aligned to the Indigenous Affairs strategy and measurable social impact.
This newly created leadership role requires both strategic capability and hands-on collaboration. Build an environment that will bring real opportunities to influence meaningful change while guiding others to do the same.
QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring
You’re a natural connector and respected leader who thrives in diverse, cross-functional environments. You’ll bring:
Extensive experience in Indigenous Affairs, community engagement, or a related leadership role — ideally within corporate, energy, or resources sectors.
Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols, and community engagement practices, underpinned by lived experience.
Demonstrated success leading and developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teams.
Proven ability to translate client services deliverables into tangible outcomes through innovative and effective programs, partnerships, and business initiatives.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels of the business and community.
Exposure to Reconciliation Action Plans and establishment or participation in employee reference groups.
Tertiary qualifications in Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, Business Management, or demonstrated career experience in similar roles.
