Hiring Range: This position’s hiring range is anticipated to be $61,400 to $69,000 annually, depending on experience, plus great benefits!

Position Summary: The Inclusion & Learning Coordinator supports Culture, Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives that strengthen belonging, cultural competence, and organizational effectiveness. This role coordinates learning experiences, supports facilitation, and uses participation, feedback, and outcome data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements. The coordinator partners with leaders and stakeholders to understand team needs, tailor learning solutions, and inform decisions that support an inclusive, collaborative workplace.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of CDI and L&D initiatives aligned with organizational goals, guiding principles, and workplace culture priorities.

  • Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, participant communications, attendance tracking, and follow-up.

  • Support and co-facilitate (onsite and remote) learning experiences, including cultural competency, inclusive leadership, management-focused, and cultural awareness trainings.

  • Track, review, and interpret participation, engagement, feedback, and outcome data to evaluate program effectiveness and surface meaningful insights.

  • Identify meaningful trends, gaps, and opportunities and prepare context-informed recommendations that support continuous improvement of CDI and L&D programs.

  • Consult with leaders and internal stakeholders to understand team learning needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions.

  • Partner with CDI and L&D leaders to develop, customize, and refine training content using organizational context, participant feedback, and program data.

  • Maintain accurate program records, reports, and data while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Manage CDI and L&D communication channels, ensuring messaging is clear, timely, accurate, and appropriate for the audience and topic.

  • Collaborate with internal partners to support cross-functional initiatives, special projects, cultural celebrations, and organization-wide learning efforts.

  • Coordinate outreach and logistics for external partners, guest speakers, facilitators, and vendors connected to CDI and L&D programming.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience supporting and/or coordinating learning, inclusion, or HR-related programs, with the ability to manage competing priorities across functions and multiple initiatives.

  • Ability to facilitate or co-facilitate group discussions and trainings (on-site and/or remotely), including navigating sensitive or complex topics with confidence.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize, execute, and follow through on deliverables.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and lead training sessions. As well as the ability to professionally advocate Best Friends' position on issues.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative, and supportive relationships across teams and with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting training logistics and program execution, including scheduling, communications, and materials preparation.

  • Ability to track, interpret, and summarize program data and feedback to identify insights, trends, and recommendations.

  • Ability to consult with leaders and stakeholders, ask thoughtful questions, and recommend solutions aligned with team and organizational needs.

  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and sound judgment, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

  • Exposure to or experience with instructional design principles is a plus.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive information and conversations.

  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; familiarity with learning platforms, project management tools, or communication tools, or desire to learn, comfort learning new systems, including online information systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work at a computer for extended periods of time with repetitive typing, arm, and hand motion.  

  • Regular travel (approximately up to 20%) is required to support the delivery of training programs, employee development initiatives, organizational events, and strategic inclusion efforts.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible to be covered by Best Friend’s vehicle insurance.

  • While onsite at any of our facilities, there could be exposure to dogs, cats, and other animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical statuses.
