Facilitates pet adoptions by matching animals with suitable families, counseling adopters, coordinating introductions and records, and supporting foster and transfer partners. Provides welcoming customer service, volunteer guidance, animal handling and basic care, social media content, data entry, and operational support. Requires professional dog or cat experience, strong communication, physical ability to handle animals and lift 40 pounds, a valid driver’s license, and weekend, holiday, and occasional travel availability.

Coordinates daily animal lifesaving programs, including adoptions, transports, transfers, and foster care. Supports adopters and foster parents before and after placement, leads volunteers, provides customer service, maintains records and data entry, and collaborates on efficient operational processes. Requires professional or volunteer experience with dogs and cats, foster programming experience, strong communication and organization skills, and the ability to safely handle animals and perform strenuous physical work in varied conditions.

Lead and advise LAAS on implementing a 3-year Best Friends/ASPCA plan across six shelters. Provide onsite training, manage embed staff and volunteers, track KPIs and data, coordinate budgets and stakeholders, build community partnerships, and drive systemic change to improve lifesaving outcomes.

Serve as an on-site strategic advisor embedded within Los Angeles Animal Services to implement a three-year Best Friends/ASPCA plan. Lead change management, staff training, KPI tracking, cross-stakeholder communication, and program implementation across six LAAS shelters. Manage Best Friends embed advisors, volunteers, budgets, data collection, and community partnerships to improve shelter operations and lifesaving outcomes.

Lead and collaborate with animal shelter teams across the U.S. to implement strategies aimed at saving more animal lives. Manage change hands-on, foster stronger systems, and advocate for improved shelter programs while maintaining a significant travel schedule.

Assist in various trades departments through a 12-week hands-on apprenticeship, including vehicle maintenance, construction, and utilities training.
