JOB SUMMARY
This is an Operations position responsible for scheduling trucks for inbound product delivery and acting as a control point for the warehouse.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules appointments for all incoming shipments, working with the Purchasing Department and various trucking companies.
Provides updated truck information to Purchasing Department every few hours.
Utilizes the Sysco Warehouse Management System (SWMS) to assist with the closing of purchase orders, as well as utilizes SUS and TMS daily for scheduling purposes.
Strategically schedules loads according to caps, load size, door availability, etc. and assigns inbound trucks to specific warehouse doors.
Tracks late carries and logs into SUS using correct reason codes
Maintains shellfish information and various other files to comply with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Orders chep and wood pallets and various other supplies for the warehouse.
Maintains warehouse office files, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Checks in trucks as needed at the receiving desk.
Retain Billing to lumping service and trucking lines.
Acts as a liaison with vendors, suppliers, freight companies, facility security and dispatchers to identify and resolve scheduling and billing problems.
Prepares a schedule and other paperwork for next day deliveries.
Tracks trends in scheduling for proper preparation daily/weekly, including holding appointment spots for known future loads that have yet to be scheduled.
Monitors emails throughout the day for quick and consistent communication with all carriers regarding scheduling, rescheduling, unloading updates, etc.
Inputs check in times daily for all delivered loads
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
1-3 months related experience and/or training.
High-volume food distribution experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Candidates may be required to obtain Pallet Jack and Forklift Certification from Sysco in some sites.
Professional Skills
Working knowledge of the following: product receiving techniques and procedures, products sold by Sysco, Sysco safety and security policies, equipment associated with warehouse activities and the operation of the equipment.
Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

Excellent communication skills.
