ResponsibilitiesSupplier Sourcing & Relationship Management
- Identify and engage with new suppliers in China and internationally.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and terms with suppliers.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers and ensure expectations are clear.
- Conduct supplier assessments to ensure reliability, quality, and compliance.
Order Management & Import Coordination
- Place orders with suppliers and coordinate all import logistics to South Africa.
- Proactively flag any delays, risks, or issues and propose solutions.
Product & Sample Management
- Source products in line with business requirements, including quality, cost, and profitability.
- Track and manage samples, ensuring timely evaluation and approval.
- Compare quotes, costs, and shipping options to determine the most cost-effective and efficient route.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of orders, supplier communications, costs, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports and updates for management on sourcing, cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance.
- Ensure data is meticulous, up-to-date, and easily accessible for decision-making.
Administration & Multitasking
- Handle multiple projects, orders, and suppliers simultaneously.
- Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
- Support ad-hoc projects requiring research, supplier outreach, and administrative support.
- 2–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or import coordination with China or international suppliers.
- Strong Excel and data management skills; familiarity with inventory systems or procurement software is a plus.
- Understanding of international shipping, customs, and logistics.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Takes ownership and drives tasks to completion without constant supervision.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, meets tight deadlines, and manages multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly in data, cost tracking, and order management.
- Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

OneDayOnly is South Africa's original daily deals website. We were founded back in 2010 by Chris Oberhofer and Maurits Vermeulen, two friends who came up with an idea to do something that had not yet been done in the country: build a website where customers could get their hands on incredible brands at unbeatable discounts for a limited time. Since then, we've grown to become a force to be reckoned with in the landscape of e-commerce, set apart from the rest by our fun tone of voice and sense of humour - and, of course, our big deals.
We partner with top brands and key suppliers to be able to offer products to over a million potential customers, through various channels including our daily mailer, social media accounts, email campaigns and, most recently, our mobile app - perfect for bagging big deals on the move!
Of course, our website and app don't run themselves: we employ over 300 human beings to sell things, buy things, process things, repair things and work on our website and app. Not to mention pack things and deliver things.
