Import Entry Writer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process entry documentation for a variety of commodities in compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) including FDA, USDA.
• Arrange pickup of air and ocean freight at origins and arrange transportation to destination. 
• Coordinate movement of shipments from port via ocean, air, rail, truck or intermodal. 
• Prepare and submit Arrival Notices, delivery orders, and coordinate with warehouses and drayage providers.
• Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and tariffs. 
• File ISF (Importer Security Filing) and ensure timely and accurate submission for ocean shipments.
• Maintain and provide statement backups for customs entries and monthly statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of CBP Form 7512 for Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) shipments.
• Manage SEB (Single Entry Bond) and Continuous Bond processes based on transaction volume and risk.
• Prepare and maintain Certificates of Origin and validate usage of Special Program Indicators (SPI) such as for GSP, USMCA, or other FTA's.
• Support audits related to free trade agreements, classification and valuation
• Oversee ADD/CVD reimbursement certifications
• Ensure timely submission of Prior Notice filings for FDA-regulated food products
• Communicate with vendors. 
• Track and trace shipments. 
• Coordinate deliveries to consignees. 
• Communicate with clients regarding shipment status, document requirements, holds, exams, and other related issues.
• Post bonds for the products being imported or assist clients in obtaining bonds. 
• Pay or arrange for payment of freight, and insurance fees, or other charges. 
• Maintain communication and information between Customers and Vendors to ensure that customers’ needs are met. 
• Prepare billing invoices and ensure proper costing and documentation in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3+ years freight forwarding industry experience.
• 3+ years Customs Brokerage experience, entry filing and regulatory compliance.
• Cargowise One experience highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
• Self-motivated with a team-player attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Additional Information:

• Salary Range: $50,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
