Job Description:Position SummaryThe Import Compliance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the company’s global trade compliance strategy, focusing on Customs and import operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Trade Compliance, this position will ensure the company’s Customs and import activities adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including but not limited to import classification, customs valuation, country of origin, importer structure, broker management, documentation standards, and shipment decisioning in a way that supports the company’s global operations.
The role requires hands-on operational expertise, monitoring Customs regulations, and ability to collaborate across multiple business functions with minimum guidance.

Key ResponsibilitiesImport Compliance Leadership- Oversee and manage all aspects of import compliance, including customs clearance, extensive knowledge of tariff regulation (e.g. IEEPA tariff, CAPE refund, Section 232, Section 301, and etc), HTS classification, Customs valuation, country of origin determination, and duty preference programs.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, marking and labeling requirements, and other relevant import laws.
- Maintain knowledge of up-to-date Customs regulations and pending legislation; implement internal programs and policies to address risks and respond to Customs regulation changes. Collaborate with outside counsel and consultants as needed.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other internal business units to coordinate import activities and resolve Customs issues.
- Build and scale import compliance procedures, import documentation, support internal/external audits and post-entry reviews, record keeping including commercial invoices, packing lists, broker packets, entry support, prototype claims, and audit-ready files.
- Administer the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) compliance program and manage associated audits.
- Oversee Customs brokers and ensure accurate and timely Customs filings. Conduct periodical audit and review broker performance on a regular basis.
- Provide guidance on Automated Export System (AES) filings related to imports and exports, ensuring accuracy and resolution of errors.
- Develop, implement, and maintain import compliance policies, procedures, and technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments of import compliance programs.
- Develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on import and customs compliance requirements.
- Ensure global trade records are maintained in accordance with government document retention requirements.
- Support quality control oversight of in-house import classifications and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification in trade compliance or customs preferred. Customs broker license a plus.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in import/customs compliance, preferably in the semiconductor or technology manufacturing sector.
- Subject matter expertise in U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, duty preference programs, CTPAT, and USMCA.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex regulatory matters to non-experts.
- Experience conducting internal audits and assessments is a plus.
- Proven track record to work with minimal supervision in fast paced environment.
- Experience working with engineers and high technology products/services.
- Familiarity with non-U.S. import compliance regulations (e.g. Canada, China) is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is USD 81,300.00 To USD 130,000.00
