The Import Assistant for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the processing, monitoring & record keeping of Inbound shipments in accordance with all relevant policies & procedures.
This position reports to the Senior Distribution Manager and is part of the Global Supply Chain team located in Newcastle, UK. This will be a fully on-site based role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Conduct Import Clearance by relaying with external Custom House Brokers – clear all goods into UK from global suppliers
Import Performance Monitoring – Analysis of KPI’s for Key Critical Custom House Brokers to ensure timely clearance and management of flow of goods Imports
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor or Technical Degree in area of Logistics/Supply Chain based field area or similar
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
Ability to travel – 5-15% travel may be required, overnight, within territory or locations
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
Multiple years of experience in the field of Importation and Customs
Knowledge and skillset related to Customs House Brokerage
