Reporting directly to the IT Manager based at the Canadian Headquarter, the Implementation Specialist (barcode) will be responsible for the planning, implementing and maintaining of barcode systems across our operations.
Responsibilities:
System Implementation
- Plan and execute the implementation of barcode systems, including hardware and software setup.
- Configure and test barcode scanners, printers, and related equipment.
- Develop and maintain barcode labeling standards and procedures.
Data Management
- Ensure accurate data entry and integrity within the barcode system.
- Develop and maintain databases for product information, inventory, and tracking.
- Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Process Optimization
- Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement through barcode technology.
- Develop and implement best practices for barcode usage across various departments.
- Streamline inventory management, order fulfillment, and tracking processes.
Training and Support
- Provide training and support to staff on barcode system usage and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to barcode systems.
- Create and maintain user documentation and training materials.
Collaboration
- Work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of barcode systems.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.
- Work with vendors on hardware and software support.
Inventory Management
- Improve inventory accuracy through the use of barcode technology.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (desirable).
- Principles of inventory management and process optimisation.
- Proven experience in project management, barcode system implementation, barcode scanning and printing technologies and management.
- Strong understanding of barcode technology, including different symbologies and scanning equipment.
- Technical troubleshooting experience.
- Training and documentation.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in data management and database software.
- Fluency in English and French, due to interaction with our international facilities
