Our customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), provides, operates, and assures command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA-provided capabilities and services.
The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) contract has an opening for an Implementations Network Engineer III in Scott AFB, IL. The Implementations Network Engineer will perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, servicing of network equipment and activation of networks for projects supporting the Department of Defense networks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing and training team on the following duties:

Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execution of all reporting functions, and complete data input associated with new service activations to ensure they are implemented in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards.

Work directly with customers, solution architects and vendor SMEs to implement changes and also identify, analyze, and resolve issues.

Manage Service Orders, in accordance with Change Management procedures

Ensure Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are in place and accurate for scheduled network additions and changes

Initiate network device configurations using configlets
-
Analyze DISN and databases to validate and implement customer requirements
-
Design and implementation of solutions to highly technical problems through testing, documentation and modification of configurations on network devices
-
Coordinate and program customer circuit activation with commercial vendors to establish the engineered solution for end-to-end connectivity
-
Perform network monitoring to assess if deployed changes have caused impacts to customer traffic using provided expectations of traffic behavior, lessons learned, and customer reporting

Utilize systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements in support of customer resources.

Engage with the DISA project managers and/or customers to resolve issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.

Reach out to stakeholders and facilitate approvals as necessary to ensure continual forward progress of the service request.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Proficient knowledge of various network hardware equipment specifications, configuration and testing processes, and industry specifications.
-
Knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
-
Network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience.
-
Understanding of basic telecommunications and information technology terms and technology.
-
Knowledge of data and voice network design carried over various transmissions systems, router to router connections using military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, switch-to-switch trunking to include VLANS, and circuit configurations through multiplexers.

Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, etc.) and network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, domain name servers, firewalls).

Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes.

Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
-
An active Secret security clearance is required.

DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.
-
Prior experience with SharePoint data entry.

Experience performing customer outreach.

Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment process and associate documents (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports) and circulars experience.

Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy.

Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements.

Network certifications: Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP, etc.)- ITIL certification.

Engineer and models’ connections across the DISN network by calculating bandwidth constraints.

Performs simulations to determine the optimal interaction and paths between the different network entities (routers, switches, nodes, access points, links, etc.).

Conduct network performance optimization using DISN provided tools to assist in the planning and design of multi-technology, multi-vendor networks, provide baseline analysis, cost-effective network change planning, and survivability testing.

Initiates network grooming, provides impact assessments, and provides alternative routing support during operational / real-world events. This is accomplished by ensuring the integrity of the analytical framework and modeling tools for end-to-end DODIN performance modeling and assessment.

Dynamically collect and assess key DISA performance parameters, interacting with model-based simulations, recommends optimal configurations to achieve prioritized DoD mission capability and effects.
Required Education and Experience:

Requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.

Pay Range:Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
