Implementation Specialist
We are looking for an Implementation specialist to join our global implementation team. This individual would be responsible for supporting and delivering customer implementations, post-sales, for Elsevier’s higher education products, including Interfolio and Pure.
This role works directly with higher education and research institutions to deliver successful software implementations that streamline academic workflows, research management, and data-driven decision-making.
You will act as a trusted partner to customers—guiding them through onboarding, configuration, data integration, and adoption—while collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals developing expertise in project delivery, client engagement, and technical implementation.
Responsibilities
- Supporting and managing customer implementation projects from post-sale through go-live
- Developing and executing project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress
- Serving as primary point of contact for customers during implementation
- Conducting regular status meetings and provides project updates
- Advising customers on product configuration and best practices
- Supporting data migration and integration activities (e.g., data validation, formatting, basic ETL coordination)
- Performing basic troubleshooting and escalates issues as needed
- Delivering customer training sessions (virtual and/or onsite)
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams
- Maintaining implementation documentation and contributes to process improvements
- Supporting multiple concurrent implementation projects
Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required-1–2 years of relevant experience in implementation, project coordination, customer success, or related field.
- Carry a CAPM Certification or working towards it.
- Display foundational understanding of SaaS implementation methodologies.
- Have basic/high-level knowledge of data integration concepts (e.g., APIs, XML, ETL processes).
- Have exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Display effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Display a customer-focused mindset with problem-solving capability.
- Are proficient with standard business tools (e.g. Microsoft Office).
- Have familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira, Confluence, Sales Force or similar) valued.
- Are accountable for their work output and has detailed follow-through skills
- Able to work on moderately complex implementation projects with guidance.
- Able to impacts customer onboarding experience and early product adoption.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with defined scope.
- Able to travel-limited travel may be required (e.g., customer onsite visits).
