The Implementation Project Manager serves as a liaison between clients, client management, and OptumRx during the implementation phase. To support the organization's strategic direction and growth in the PBM industry by applying a clearly defined project management approach to all client implementations.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Primary contact for new or existing client projects varying in size, complexity, and duration
- Be able to handle multiple client implementations concurrently
- Provide input on OptumRx capabilities to meet client requirements
- Develop and maintain the project plan throughout the implementation phase
- Set and manage client expectations
- Lead and facilitate all project meetings both internally and externally
- Obtain and secure all necessary client approvals prior to the project effective date
- Identify and document any changes to the scope of the project
- Deliver on-going communication of project status
- Execute proper escalation of issues when applicable
- Participant in client visits as necessary
- Conduct project close-out activity as necessary
- Actively participant in lessons learned after the implementation has been completed
- Review implementation process to identify opportunities for improvement
- No supervision or direct reports - project team members are assigned to each client implementation by their department manager.
- Attend Finalist Presentation to support the Sales
- Perform any additional duties as assigned
- Adhere to all OptumRx policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in the PBM, health care, or pharmacy industry
- 2+ Implementation or large healthcare project management experience
- Solid experience in influencing internally and externally with soft power, driving cross - functional collaboration, and negotiating win - win solutions
- Proven independent contributors with the ability to multi-task, work with leaders and ensure client satisfaction
- Proven excellent written, oral, and active listening communication skills. Demonstrated ability to message, position, and present information for maximum customer impact and influence
- Proven ability to ascertain client needs through active listening skills, and consultatively work with clients to achieve business objectives
- Proven effective skills for navigating and driving results across operations, network, and clinical domains in a highly complex, matrix environment
- Willing to work through year-end holiday season (Christmas week/NYE/New Year's Day) as necessary to address client go-live issues and support cross-functional teams
- Willing or ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PBM Implementation
- OptumRx operations, account management or Project Management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
