As we continue to expand our partner ecosystem, we are looking for talented Implementation Engineers to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring seamless onboarding and configuration of new partners onto our platform.

Role Overview

The Implementation Engineer will be responsible for configuring and integrating new partners into Rocket Travel by Agoda's platform. This includes working across various microservices, APIs, databases, and tools to ensure a smooth onboarding process. The role requires a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. While the primary focus is on configuration and integration, the role will also require a strong technical foundation for tasks such as contributing to internal tools, troubleshooting issues through test creation, validating platform team suggestions, and scripting to enhance efficiency and support.

Key Responsibilities

Partner Onboarding:

• Configure and integrate new partners onto Rocket Travel by Agoda's platform(s), including API integrations, theming, logo updates, and economic configuration in the database.
• Set up and manage configurations across microservices, white-label platforms, Consul, and other tools.

Technical Configuration:

• Perform system configurations to meet partner requirements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues during the onboarding process.

Automation & Scripting:

• Write scripts to automate repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and support troubleshooting.
• Develop tools to streamline the onboarding process and reduce manual effort.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with platform engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful partner launches.
• Collaborate globally with teams across different regions and time zones to align on requirements, resolve issues, and ensure smooth onboarding processes.
• Communicate technical requirements and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Support & Maintenance:

• Provide post-onboarding support to partners, addressing any configuration or integration issues.
• Maintain and update documentation related to configurations, processes, and tools.
• Ensure partner uptime SLAs are met by participating in off-hours and weekend on-call rotations, promptly resolving critical issues, and minimizing downtime.

Qualifications
Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, and system integrations.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of databases (SQL) for configuration and data management.
• Familiarity with tools like Consul, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Experience:

• 1+ years of experience in a technical role involving system configuration, integration, or implementation.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred:

• Experience in the travel or e-commerce industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.. Potential benefits include a competitive retirement plan, medical/dental plans, and life insurance among others.   

The annual salary range for the local Chicago area is $75k to $110k, determined by a candidate's fit and experience.
