Job Summary: Tyson Foods is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to support and enhance our maturing in-house immigration program. This role involves assessing, building, and implementing new policies and practices to align with the Company’s growing immigration needs, working with outside counsel on existing immigration cases, and handling appropriate cases in-house.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a book of existing and newly initiated immigrant and non-immigrant visa cases.
- Initiate and manage appropriate immigration cases in-house.
- Respond to immigration-related inquiries from team members, internal clients, policy makers and leadership.
- Create and deliver high-level immigration training to hiring managers, HR, Talent Acquisition partners, and teams with high utilization of immigration services.
- Partner with outside counsel to ensure efficient, professional, and cost-effective provisioning of immigration services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to draft, update, and implement immigration policies, procedures and compliance controls, incorporating technological solutions to streamline services and enhance team member experience.
- Partner with relevant teams to enhance global mobility through immigration processes and align business leader strategies with appropriate immigration timelines, costs, and limitations.
- Develop immigration pathway strategies to support talent retention and planning by setting reasonable expectations and by creating and advising on immediate and projected cost models.
- Say up-to-date on legislative changes that impact immigration processes and planning.
- Support the broader Labor and Employment team and Law department generally as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited US law school and be admitted to a US state bar in good standing.
- At least 1 year of experience managing corporate immigration programs, policies, or compliance systems.
- At least 3 years of experience drafting and filing petitions for U.S. non-immigrant visa categories such as H-1B, TN, E-3, L-1, O-1.
- Experience with the PERM process, including experience running and documenting labor market tests.
- Experience drafting and filing I-140 and I-485 petitions associated with EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa petitions.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the drafting of internal policies, protocols, or workflow processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with global immigration processes or global mobility.
- Familiarity with the I-9 process and appropriate documentation.
- Experience advising internal or corporate clients on international labor and employment laws.
