Role Overview:
Trellix is seeking a talented and dynamic attorney to join as our Immigration Specialist and Employment Law Counsel. This position will report to our Director, Litigation and Compliance and will support a global team of HR and business leaders. This is a full-time position that will monitor the efficiency of global immigration programs and advise on a wide range of employment law-related issues in collaboration with regional legal team members.
About the Role
- Ensure corporate immigration and relocation programs, policies and procedures are followed and in compliance with government legislation and regulations
- Develop, implement, and maintain practices, policies and procedures that best suits the company’s current immigration needs
- Serve as point of contact for all immigration matters globally
- Partner with Recruiting, Payroll, Tax, Legal, HR, People Services and Benefits teams on employee’s immigration matters
- Work closely with outside immigration counsel in preparing appropriate immigration cases e.g. H1B, I-140, L-1, PERM, green card cases, etc.
- Prepare immigration status and cost forecast reports for HR partners
- May be responsible for other projects that are part of the team’s initiatives
- Provide legal advice and counsel to key partners in Human Resources and other cross-functional stakeholders regarding diversity, wage and hour issues, equal pay, contingent workforce matters, employee benefits and compensation programs, leaves of absence and accommodations, and global mobility, as well as other substantive employment law areas.
- Create and/or lead training on global employment law issues
- Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to the above substantive legal areas, and provide proactive, strategic advice to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and/or provide support on pre-litigation and litigation matters relating to the above substantive legal areas.
- Interact with and advise senior leadership on company-wide initiatives affecting employees.
- Draft and edit employment-related documents and processes.
- Support internal clients across jurisdictions and time zones
- Other duties as assigned
About You
- J.D. degree and from accredited law school and membership in at least one relevant state bar
- 10+ years of experience of legal experience handling employment counseling and/or litigation
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and collaboration skills
- Employment litigation experience and experience coordinating and driving to completion large-scale projects
- Strong knowledge and understanding of all types of US & Global work visa categories and in depth understanding of employment based green card process
- Impeccable discretion and organization with sensitive and confidential information
