The Imaging Technologist II is responsible for performing specialized and difficult diagnostic imaging examinations of patients, ionizing radiation, to render optimum images and support diagnostic processes. The Imaging Technologist II is proficient in more than one modality, and is required to be qualified to care for infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Monday - Friday 8a-4:30p OR 4 days a week 7a-5:30p
  • On call
  • Utilize more than one imaging technique to produce images; combine images using optical, magnetic, and radioactive reporters to be detected by SPECT, MRI, and PET.
  • Specialize in and perform at least two of the following: X-rays, Computed Tomography Scan (CT Scan), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine Imaging, Positron-Emission Tomography (PET).
  • Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy.
  • Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients, and answer patient questions.
  • Ensure patients are not exposed to excessive amounts of radiation.
  • Complete all imaging exams and procedures providing the most optimal images for review.
  • Perform venipunctures when applicable, utilizing universal precautions while administering contrast media.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred Associate's Degree Radiology
  • Required Certificate Radiology
  • 1 year Radiology Required
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Radiography (ARRT-R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Indiana
  • Radiology Technologist License (RADTECH) - State Licensing Board
  • Registered Ultrasonographer (ARDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
