IMAGE RETOUCHER - FULL TIME - WASHINGTON, TYNE & WEAR

Who We Are:

Inspired by a shared love of fashion, sneakers and the surrounding culture, END. was founded in Newcastle upon Tyne back in 2005. Our first UK store brought together a curated mix of celebrated designers and emerging brands, many of which were previously hard to find outside of London. From day one, we’ve nurtured a community of like-minded individuals united by a love for this ever-evolving culture.

Today, END. serves over 2 million customers worldwide through a seamless blend of online and physical retail. Our industry-leading stores in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, London, and Milan reflect our commitment to innovation, influence, and inspiration. We offer a carefully curated selection of menswear, womenswear, sneakers, homeware, and lifestyle products to a global audience.

At the heart of END. is our customer and it’s our people and culture that make the difference. With over 600 employees across our HQ, offices, and retail locations, our customer-first mindset continues to guide everything we do.

The Role:

Working as a key member of the E-Commerce Studio, you will be responsible for creating high quality, commercially effective product imagery that meets END.'s premium visual standards across all digital channels. This role combines hands-on retouching with quality control responsibilities, supporting both
internal studio workflows and externally outsourced retouching partners. You will play an important role in ensuring imagery is delivered accurately, consistently, and in line with established brand guidelines and retouching specifications.

As the studio continues to evolve its post-production workflows and increase its utilisation of outsourced retouching services, you will work closely with external partners to review output quality, provide constructive feedback, and support the ongoing development and adherence to END.'s retouching standards.

Working collaboratively with Photography, Styling, Production, and external retouching teams, you will help maintain the highest levels of image quality whilst ensuring efficient delivery against trading and launch deadlines.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

Image Retouching & Post-Production

  • Retouch high volumes of e-commerce imagery across Menswear, Womenswear, Footwear, Accessories, END. Label, and Lifestyle categories.
  • Ensure all imagery meets END.'s established visual, technical, and commercial standards.
  • Perform advanced retouching including colour correction, image clean-up, compositing, shape correction, background refinement, and product enhancement.
  • Maintain consistency across all imagery regardless of shooting set, photographer, stylist, or product category.
  • Prioritise urgent launches and business-critical workflows when required.
  • Prepare imagery for final web delivery in accordance with studio specifications.

Quality Control & Brand Standards

  • Review imagery against internal style guides and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks on both internally and externally retouched imagery.
  • Identify image issues relating to styling, photography, cropping, colour accuracy, product representation, and retouching quality.
  • Ensure all imagery accurately represents the product while maintaining a premium customer experience.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of retouching standards across the business.
  • Raise and resolve image quality concerns in collaboration with Photography, Styling, and Production teams.

External Retouching Partner Management

  • Work closely with outsourced retouching providers to ensure consistent delivery against agreed quality standards.
  • Review agency-produced imagery and provide clear, actionable feedback where improvements are required.
  • Participate in regular review and calibration meetings with external partners.
  • Assist in maintaining strong working relationships with outsourced retouching suppliers.
  • Support the creation and updating of briefing materials, style guides, and visual references for external partners.
  • Escalate recurring quality issues and contribute to solutions that improve consistency and efficiency.

    Workflow & Production Support

    • Manage allocated workloads efficiently to ensure delivery against trading deadlines and launch schedules.
    • Support workflow prioritisation across multiple categories and product launches.
    • Collaborate closely with Production and Content teams to ensure imagery progresses through the workflow without delay.
    • Assist with Freshdesk issues, image-related queries, and ad hoc reshoot requirements where necessary.
    • Monitor workload volumes and communicate risks or bottlenecks proactively.
    • Contribute to the successful delivery of seasonal peaks and large-scale trading events.

    Style Guide & Process Development

    • Support the maintenance and evolution of internal retouching style guides.
    • Assist with documenting best practices and process improvements across the postproduction function.
    • Help ensure consistency between internal retouching output and agency-delivered imagery.
    • Contribute feedback on workflow enhancements, automation opportunities, and emerging post-production technologies.
    • Remain up to date with industry trends, software developments, and evolving e-commerce standards.

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Work closely with Photographers, Stylists, Production Coordinators, Content Teams, and Studio Management.
    • Participate in image reviews and quality feedback sessions.
    • Communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external retouching partners.
    • Support knowledge sharing and best practice across the wider studio team.
    • Contribute positively to a collaborative and solution-focused studio culture.
