We are seeking skilled Illustrators specialized in illustration for animation, with a strong focus on storyboarding and character illustration. This role is not for general illustrators or hobbyists; it requires a production-grade ability to redraw characters from scratch while maintaining perfect identity and anatomical consistency across multiple frames, angles, and poses.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain strict character identity, proportions, and anatomy across different poses, angles, and multiple frames.
- Create storyboard panels that demonstrate a deep understanding of shot continuity, pacing, and visual flow.
- Produce multiple design variants (outfits, silhouettes, or styles) for a single character while keeping the core identity recognizable.
- Develop comprehensive character model sheets, including turnarounds, dynamic pose sheets, and detailed expression sheets.
- Deliver high-quality, clean line work under tight production timelines, incorporating feedback loops and self-quality checks for consistency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Expert-level grasp of anatomy, figure drawing, and proportion control.
- Proven ability to visualize scenes across multiple frames based on written scripts or briefs.
- Ability to vary character styles or design directions without losing the character's underlying "anchor" identity.
- Experience with professional digital tools such as Procreate, Photoshop, Clip Studio, or Krita, ideally utilizing an iPad + Pencil or similar drawing tablet setup.
- Experience working with animation or motion design teams.
- Familiarity with animation pipelines and handoff requirements.
- Background in animation studios, motion branding, or digital storytelling.
- Experience contributing to AI training datasets or structured creative tasks.
- Portfolio showcasing storyboards and character-driven illustration work.
