DR IT landscape has developed over an extended period in response to diverse businesses and processes across geographic and business lines. GSAP is the main ERP system that cuts across all CoBs of DR and is the backbone of DR business. The DR data landscape is spread between BW, BW on HANA and Azure and is the core for DR Financial reporting & analytics supporting 1000 + users across the globe.
What's the role
The IDT Manager Data and MI owns the IT Strategic Plan for the Portfolio, co-creating and evergreening IDT’s technology and data response to business vision, priorities, and challenges through the business-facing natural team, maintaining a strong partnership with DROE and businesses to drive innovation and efficiency in the digital space.
Adjoining the IDT Strategic Plan, the IDT Manager must identify, select, refine, and relentlessly manage a robust pipeline of technology and data opportunities that target the unlocking of new sources of business value from recognised business and customer problems. Equal emphasis should be placed on value realisation from Portfolio optimisation opportunities, as well as scale and replicate opportunities. Diligence in benefits realization should be observed, with emphasis on value protection (avoidance of value erosion) across investments.
The IDT Manager must manage risk across the Portfolio and drive compliance to agreed Enterprise IT standards, representing this agenda equally to business stakeholders. The business-facing natural team must be mobilised by the IDT Manager and orchestrated effectively to understand the business vision and deliver key outcomes, as captured in the corresponding IDT Strategic Plan.
Success is judged against fulfilment of business KPIs and effective management of risk across the IDT business portfolio by the business-facing natural team. Key components of the role include:

In the current context this role will also be the IDT lead for the BW remediation & GIP that is being worked as part of Nucleus.
Stakeholder Management
• Manages a network of business and x-functional IDT stakeholders, structuring relationships to build rapport, trust, and mutual respect.
• Leads business stakeholder engagements and seeks to inform, influence and challenge, using data driven insights to frame compelling stories.
• Champions and role-models a One Team mindset and aligns and orchestrates the business facing natural team(s) to enable the right business outcomes and yield value from technology and data.
• Inspires and coaches others to operate commercially and demonstrate value from technology and data.
• Manages actively the reputation of the IDT business portfolio and IDT Function by telling the right stories and using the right data points at the right time
• Grows and refreshes internal and external networks to elevate future business differentiation through technology and data.
• Captures feedback from business stakeholders in a structured way during the annual Business Survey exercise with regular engagement during the year to maintain alignment to strategic direction and priorities.
Integrated IDT and Business Strategy
• Owns, co-creates, and evergreens the IDT Strategic Plan for the IDT business portfolio.
• Operates as the business co-pilot, leading with commercial mindset to enable business vision and fulfil business KPIs from technology and data.
• There is a special challenge to ensure that the portfolio's IT strategic plan is one that drives value across the DR CoB's and one the DR CoB's buy into in order to make it implementable.
• Demonstrates art of the possible with technology and data, orchestrating prototypes to demonstrate new business models and additional sources of profit.
• Shapes and guides technology investment decision-making, fully aligning choices to defined business priorities or challenges.
• Represents robustly the Enterprise IDT strategy and associated standards for business compliance and scaled management of risk.
• Drives technology adoption for deeper customer penetration and competitive differentiation.
• Drives data commoditization for business enablement and future revenue generation.
• Challenges business models and processes no longer adding value, recommending options to pivot
• Supports business planning and facilitates complementary IDT processes.
Value Generation & Protection
• Obsesses about unlocking business value and applying a commercial mindset to all aspects of the IDT business portfolio.
• Balances value generation from new investments with value harvesting from existing assets and the IDT business portfolio landscape
• Works the Value Funnel relentlessly, refining, and prioritising opportunities consistently, coaching IDT Advisors to pursue and refine standalone opportunities
• Protects value by managing opportunities across the opportunity lifecycle, transparently tracking, and sharing investment performance against KPI fulfilment to evidence value yields.
• Builds compelling and robust business cases, managing IDT Advisors to frame the commercial opportunity, business benefits, and associated business change/impact. Drives clarity of investment cost (OPEX/CAPEX), and defines IDT performance metrics, measurements, and benefits.
• Ensures value data is correctly represented and managed in ServiceNow.
• Manages a calendar of PIRs to extract learnings that inform future opportunity development and investment decision-making.
IDT Portfolio Management
• Seeks input to the IDT Strategic Plan from across the business-facing natural team, refreshing the Plan with the team consistently during the year.
• Positions Enterprise IDT standards and policies correctly in management of the IDT business portfolio.
• Orchestrates and brokers across functional lines to translate business requirements into value-enabling outcomes.
• Balances business IDT portfolio risk and health with speed to value.
• Drives the Portfolio to consider innovative ways of reducing cost and harvesting additional business benefit from the existing technology and data landscape.
• Takes the challenge to the business on cost optimisation, managing conversations around business process harmonisation/standardisation.
• Takes accountability for the delivery of safe, reliable, secure, and affordable operations by the IDT portfolio in line with SLAs.
Business Intelligence
• Understands the RDS Group vision, strategy and purpose and how the business portfolio contributes to its fulfilment.
• Understands the value chain of the business portfolio, customer journeys, and customer touchpoints.
• Applies business KPIs to measure IDT business portfolio performance
• Explores new market entrants, disruption, and competitor movement, prioritising the IDT business portfolio’s scope accordingly in mitigation and response.
• Generates compelling and provocative thought leadership informed by internal and external insights and research.
Innovation
• Champions new ways of being -individually, in their team(s), and across the IDT business portfolio to maximise the value possible from technology.
• Advocates for technology and self-starts to inform themselves about new and emerging technologies (products and services) through a rich network of internal and external stakeholders, as well through industry events.
