About the role

The ICT Support Associate will provide technical support and maintenance services for the organization's ICT infrastructure, including computers, networks, software applications, printers, and other ICT equipment. The ICT Support Associate will ensure optimal performance of ICT systems, timely resolution of user issues, and effective maintenance of ICT assets.

Location: Ghana

Reports to: Head of Programs, Ghana

Terms of Engagement: One-year contract, renewable

About the team

The Jacaranda Health Ghana team is a dedicated, mission-driven group of health professionals working to expand access to maternal health through PROMPTS, a digital health messaging intervention for new and expectant mothers. The team brings together a diverse mix of expertise spanning field program, helpdesk operations, quality assurance, finance, and administration, and has achieved remarkable milestones, including enrolling over 80,000 consented mothers across two regions in Ghana. Beyond the work itself, the team is known for its strong sense of community and for building meaningful partnerships with the Ghana Health Service and other partners to ensure that every woman experiences safe, dignified childbirth through the power of timely, digital health information. 

What You’ll Do:

Technical support

• Provide first-level technical support to users for hardware, software, network and application-related issues in a timely manner.

• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot laptops, printers and other peripheral devices.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and escalate complex problems where necessary.

• Support the installation, configuration, testing and upgrading of operating systems, software applications, and firmware updates.

• Support the testing and troubleshooting of PROMPTS, Helpdesk, and other program software/hardware functionalities

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on ICT infrastructure and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.

• Perform any other ICT-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Technical liaison

• Log vendor and partner service performance, including response times and resolution status, to support contract and SLA review.

• Provide technical orientation to new implementation partners on Jacaranda's ICT systems and reporting requirements.

IT assets and inventory management

• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of ICT assets, including hardware, software licenses, accessories and related equipment.

• Track ICT asset allocation, movement and maintenance history to ensure accountability and compliance with asset management procedures.

• Support ICT procurement activities by developing technical specifications, participating in vendor evaluations and inspecting delivered equipment for compliance with required standards.

• Prepare bi-annual reports on ICT equipment to support planning, budgeting and resource allocation processes.

IT Training

• Facilitate user awareness sessions and provide basic ICT training to staff and implementation partners to promote effective and secure use of technology resources.
  

Who you are:

What You Bring

• Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.

• Microsoft Certified Fundamentals

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Desirable Skills and Competencies:

• At least 1-2 years of experience in ICT support and maintenance.

• Experience coordinating with external vendors, service providers, or partner organizations on ICT service delivery (e.g., tracking tickets, escalations, or installations). 

• Experience supporting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Google Applications, networking and troubleshooting skills will be an advantage
