Job Description
Position: Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer (Water & Wastewater Segment)
Location: Bangalore
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer with a 5 - 15 years of expertise in designing, developing, and implementing control systems specifically within the water and wastewater industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of water treatment processes, regulatory standards, and a proven track record in delivering successful projects in this sector.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop instrumentation and control systems tailored for water and wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation for instrumentation and systems requisitions and conduct technical evaluations.
- Review and prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Prepare and review Network Architecture drawings, well-versed with various DCS/PLC/SCADA manufacturer models like ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell.
- Prepare Instrument Documents such as Design basis, Instrument Index, IO list, Data sheets (all types of field instruments like Gauges, Transmitters, Flowmeters & complex analyzers), Tray and Cable spec. sheet, Tray & Cable Schedule, Junction Box Schedule, pneumatic valve lists, and data sheets, etc.
- Review and prepare Control Documents like Datasheet for PLC, Control Panel and RTU, System Architecture, Panel and control room GA, Control Philosophy, Alarm & Trip Schedule, Cause and Effect Diagram, Control schematics, and Block logic diagrams for PLC, etc.
- Review and prepare BMS Equipment Datasheets like CCTV, Fire & Alarm, Access Control, EPABX, and others.
- Review and prepare Drawings like Instrument cable tray layout, Earthing scheme for Instrumentation items, Instrument Hook-up drawings, Instrument Cable Block diagram and loop drawing/document, Junction box wiring diagram, Instrument & Junction box location layout, Layout for CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, and EPABX system.
- Review and prepare BOM Instruments & Analyzers, Lugs, Cables, Cable Trays, Cable Glands, Tubes & Tube Fittings, Earthing, etc.
- Review and prepare Technical Requisitions for Instruments, Cable, Cable Tray, Fittings, Instrument Valves, etc.
- Review Vendor offers with Evaluation preparation.
- Review and approve post-award vendor documents/drawings.
- Review Vendor documents from Mechanical & Electrical Package and provide necessary Instrumentation inputs.
- Review all internal Process, Mechanical & Electrical drawings and provide necessary Instrumentation inputs.
- Do all interdepartmental coordination with other teams (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) to get input and give feedbacks.
- Coordinate with Vendor and Client to finalize specifications and get the Drawings/Documents Approved.
- Provide Input for Execution and Commissioning.
- Involve in FAT/SAT/Inspection.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting will be an added advantage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field from a recognized University.
- 5 - 15 years’ relevant experience in design of Instrumentation and Control systems associated with the Water & Wastewater industry.
- In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, including filtration, disinfection, and wastewater treatment methodologies.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools specific to water treatment control system design.
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and regional water quality regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
