IB Compliance Officer, Capital Market Review & Advisory

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated IB Compliance Officer, Capital Market Review & Advisory to join our team at RHB Investment Bank Berhad. In this role, you’ll support the establishment, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks for the Group’s capital markets businesses and operations. You will work closely with stakeholders across Investment Banking to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards while managing compliance risks effectively.

What you will be doing

• Assist in establishing, maintaining, and monitoring compliance standards and frameworks for RHB Investment Bank’s capital markets businesses and operations to manage compliance risks effectively.

• Monitor and report any non-compliance matters accurately and in a timely manner to the Head of Capital Market and Non-Broking Supervision (“CMNBS”) and Chief Compliance Officer, Group IB Compliance for further action.

• Identify and implement appropriate compliance solutions to address non-compliance issues relating to capital markets activities.

• Disseminate new or revised rules, regulations, and compliance-related updates effectively to the relevant capital markets business units.

• Support the implementation of compliance objectives and annual work plans, including periodic and thematic reviews.

• Review and provide input on Compliance Risk Assessments for business units under CMNBS’ purview.

• Collaborate closely with team members and capital markets business units on planned deliverables, including reviews of submissions to regulators where required.

• Provide advisory support to capital markets business units on the applicability of internal policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”), Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”), and Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”).

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalising internal policies and guidelines.

• Prepare learning materials and conduct compliance-related training sessions for capital markets business units.

• Support engagements and liaison activities with Internal Audit and regulatory authorities.

• Work closely with Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Markets, Client Coverage Private Sector, and GLC & Public Sector teams to strengthen internal controls and minimise compliance risks.

• Collaborate with Group Secretariat, Group Legal, and Group Internal Audit on compliance-related matters and issues.

What we’re looking for

• A degree or professional qualification from an institution recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

• Candidates with knowledge and/or experience in compliance, regulatory advisory, capital markets, investment banking, or financial services will have an added advantage.

• Good understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines issued by BNM, SC, and Bursa Securities is an added advantage.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Good contact network and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

• Fresh graduates with strong academic achievements and keen interest in compliance and capital markets are encouraged to apply.
