Job DescriptionRESPEC is seeking a motivated Early Career Engineer to provide project design in our San Antonio or Castroville, Texas offices. This role involves all aspects of planning and design services related to the stormwater and water resources engineering field. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions while collaborating with project teams and expanding your stormwater technical knowledge. This position is a hands-on position in our H&H sector, in a successful and continually growing employee-owned company. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work on hydrology and hydraulic (stormwater) projects from conception through completion, for both public and private work
- Prepare H&H models & designs, generate exhibits and technical reports
- Help in construction plan production, opinions of probable costs and development support tasks
- Help develop project deliverables, permitting and general stormwater design
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering field
- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in the stormwater-engineering field
- Practical application of the various hydrology/hydraulics software including, HEC-RAS (1D / 2D), HEC-HMS, Hydraflow, Flowmaster, StormCAD and EPASWMM
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or have ability to obtain within a year of employment
- Experience in developing and preparing stormwater drainage reports, Conditional Letters of Map Revisions (CLOMR) and Letters of Map Revision (LOMR) for FEMA, permitting and stormwater
- Experience with AutoCAD C3D and GIS.
Compensation:
Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
