Hydraulic/Hydrology Engineer
Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Hydraulic/Hydrology Engineer at our Houston office. Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas with 5 years of experience. Experience in the Houston area is desired. The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing drainage analysis modeling and design for public infrastructure and transportation projects.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using a wide range of models, including HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS.
- Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting
- Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
- Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD & MicroStation
- Perform data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Work as a member of a multi-discipline team.
- Mentor EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice
- Conduct site visits and document findings.
- Write and coordinate preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents.
Qualifications:
- Professional PE Registration preferred
- BS. Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' drainage engineering
- Profiecient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational and Communication Skills
- Works well in a Team Environment
- Thorough attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques
- Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
