JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking, and creative Hybrid Senior and Line Producer to join our team! The position includes line producing and senior producing as needed for the “America Reports” team. This is a Monday through Friday onsite position with the possibility of weekends when news warrants.  We are looking for an independent leader, a proven go-getter, team player, and someone who can rise to the occasion under the stressful demands of cable news.

As the Hybrid Senior Producer, you should have excellent editorial judgment and breaking news experience. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to gain leadership experience!

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create the show’s rundown with current news topics, compelling content, and guests

• Make important editorial decisions, guide talent, writers, associate producers, and the technical team in the control room

• Line produce for America Reports, which includes building the rundown, overseeing and executing production of key video and graphic elements

• React to breaking news and ensure the right content is getting on the air as news happens

• Oversee execution of the show, scripts, banners, and elements

• Handle all aspects of pre-production, including call-for elements, reporter scripts, and elements, and pre-taped segments

• Monitor the aesthetics of the screen to ensure that visuals support the conversation

• Work closely with the news industry's top talent

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 5+ years of newsroom experience and producing / line producing a television newscast

• Excellent organizational and managerial skills as well as the ability to create an environment that fosters teamwork

• Purposeful and skilled management of a control room

• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines

• Knowledge and passion for current events and politics

• Exceptional editorial skills; the ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television

• Proven track record of leadership and newscast rating growth

• Experience with talent management

• A Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $114,000.00-130,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
