Internship Opportunity

Join the Humanitarian Transformation team and help advance digital and process transformation across World Vision's humanitarian operations. This team works to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and impact by leveraging automation, data-driven decision-making, innovative technologies, and business process optimization.

As a Humanitarian Transformation Intern, you will collaborate with colleagues across Disaster Management, technology, analytics, and field operations to support the adoption of new tools and ways of working. Through hands-on projects and research, you will contribute to solutions that help humanitarian teams respond more effectively to crises and better serve vulnerable communities around the world.

What You'll Do:

  • Priority 1: Automation Development: Support the design, development, and testing of low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Automate and related technologies.

    • Process Improvement Solutions: Assist in creating productivity solutions that reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and enhance operational efficiency.

    • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop user guides, implementation documentation, and other resources that support solution adoption and sustainability.

  • Priority 2: Innovation and Emerging Technology Research: Research emerging technologies, artificial intelligence capabilities, and digital tools relevant to humanitarian operations.

    • Innovation Assessments: Conduct comparative assessments of potential technology solutions and contribute recommendations for future implementation.

    • Proof-of-Concept Development: Assist in developing demonstrations and pilot solutions that showcase innovative approaches to humanitarian challenges. Present findings to team stakeholders if necessary

Priority 3: Data and Performance Insights: Support the collection, analysis, and interpretation of project and operational data.

What You Need to Know:

  • Location: Remote within the US. You must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

  • Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Humanitarian Studies, International Development, International Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Innovation Management, Digital Transformation, or other interdisciplinary programmes combining humanitarianism, technology, business, analytics, and innovation.

  • Internship Cohort Dates: 25 January – 23 April 2027. 

  • Stipend: This internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.

  • Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (30-40 hours/week)

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or F-1 student visa holder with valid work authorization) and possess a valid U.S. Social Security Number.

  • Able to commit to at least 30 hours per week for the entire internship period: 25 January – 23 April 2027. 

  • Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate programme (within 2 years).

  • Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

  • Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software on those devices.
