POSITION TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCES PAYROLL COORDINATOR
REPORTS TO: Chief Human Resources Officer
FSLA Classification: Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $29.45
General Responsibilities: The Human Resources Payroll Coordinator oversees the payroll system and executes the payroll function of the organization. Additionally, the Human Resources Payroll Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources function of the organization to ensure efficient and effective department operations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the payroll and time and attendance system, and executes the bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring payroll deadlines are met.
- Processes all new hires, terminations, and employee and/or position information changes in the payroll system.
- Reviews timesheets to ensure coding is correct with the appropriate approvals and follows up with supervisors as needed for appropriate action.
- Performs the import of program participant time worked into the payroll system.
- Makes adjustments and corrections in the payroll grid as needed for special pays, retro pay, etc.
- Sets up appropriate benefit deductions, garnishments, earnings, etc. to employee profiles.
- Enters the department codes, locations, etc. in the payroll system.
- Processes and enters all other regular ongoing maintenance and/or changes to the payroll and time and attendance system.
- Runs various payroll reports following payroll submission and other ad hoc reports.
- Sorts all paychecks.
- Assists with password resets for the payroll system.
- Coordinates benefits enrollment for employees in a timely manner.
- Notify the broker of new hire benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations for processing with the various carriers.
- Monitors eligibility for Kentucky Retirement System and notifies employees in advance of their eligibility date.
- Updates the payroll system appropriately as benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations occur.
- Assists with annual open enrollment as needed (preparing paperwork, scheduling meetings, reconciling changes, etc.).
- Performs regular billings as assigned for various Human Resources and benefits vendors and creates check requests and Purchase Orders as needed.
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
- Completes employment verifications.
- Completes regular filing of all Human Resources and benefits paperwork.
- Coordinates and creates the annual employee agreements for the head start program.
- Responds to basic policy questions and escalates to the Human Resources Manager as appropriate.
- Perform other duties assigned by Chief Human Resources Officer
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College preferred
- At least 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources administrative or support role
- At least 3-5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably with Paycom applications
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to solve problems and analyze data.
- Strong commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to relate to people of various socio-economic backgrounds
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
