Human Resources Manager

Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager provides strategic and hands-on leadership for the organization’s human resources functions. This role oversees talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, workforce planning, organizational development, and compliance with employment and labor laws. The position partners closely with operational leaders to strengthen workplace culture, develop talent, support organizational change, and implement practical HR solutions aligned with business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, job postings, candidate selection, and recruiting processes managed through the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Oversee orientation and new-hire administration to ensure employees are properly hired, documented, and introduced to the organization.
  • Partner with Operations to develop and maintain effective onboarding programs that help new employees integrate successfully into their roles and the organization.
  • Oversee performance management processes, including employee evaluations, development plans, coaching practices, and related systems.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, conflict resolution, investigations, corrective action, and the promotion of a respectful work environment.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and leave programs, while supporting compliance with applicable requirements such as ERISA and COBRA.
  • Partner with Operations to lead change management initiatives related to organizational restructuring, culture, process improvement, and organizational design.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment and labor laws, including the FMLA and ADA, and maintain accurate HR records and data.
  • Use HR data and workforce metrics to identify trends, support decision-making, and recommend improvements.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources practices, human capital management, and HR information systems; experience with ADP is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment and labor laws, including the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership, judgment, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with accuracy, organization, and appropriate follow-through.
  • Experience with benefits administration, workforce planning, HR data management, and reporting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including employee relations and supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Professional HR certification preferred, such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience using ADP or a comparable HRIS preferred.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and address sensitive matters professionally.

Skills Required

  • At least five years of progressively responsible human resources experience
