About the Role:
The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining a productive, compliant, and positive workplace environment within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws and affirmative action policies. The manager ensures that HR operations align with the company’s strategic goals while fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and continuous improvement. By effectively managing disciplinary procedures and human resources policies, the HR Manager supports both employee satisfaction and organizational performance. Ultimately, this role serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, facilitating communication and resolving workplace issues to promote a healthy and legally compliant work environment across the United States locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of one-year hotel or human resources experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in human resources management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of CA employment laws, labor regulations, and affirmative action requirements.
- Proven experience in benefits administration and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High School diploma required. College degree preferred.
- Experience working in a union enviroment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and data analytics tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change management initiatives.
- Advanced training or coursework in employment law or labor relations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor affirmative action plans to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, ensuring accuracy and employee understanding.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Handle employee relations matters by addressing concerns, mediating conflicts, and conducting investigations when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and labor regulations by updating policies and conducting regular audits.
- Oversee disciplinary procedures, including documentation, counseling, and performance improvement plans.
- Collaborate with management to develop and enforce human resources policies that support organizational objectives.
- Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports related to workforce metrics and compliance.
- Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on HR best practices and legal requirements.
- Lead HR operations to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency within the department.
Skills:
The required skills such as Affirmative Action, Benefits Administration, and Employment Law are applied daily to ensure the organization remains compliant with federal and state regulations while providing competitive and fair employee benefits. HR Generalist and HR Operations skills enable the manager to handle a broad range of HR functions efficiently, from recruitment to policy enforcement. Employee Relations and Disciplinary Procedures skills are critical for maintaining a positive workplace culture by addressing conflicts and performance issues promptly and fairly.
