About the Role
As a Human Resources Intern at The Huntington, you will gain valuable experience and exposure to various HR processes and functions. This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with HR professionals in a supportive environment while developing a broad skill set in HR operations and employee management. You will actively contribute to projects in Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, HR Special Projects, Benefits, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources.

Essential Duties
General HR Support:
Provide administrative support to the HR team, including preparing reports, and maintaining HR files.
Assist with compliance-related tasks and HR audits.
Contribute to team-wide HR initiatives, events and process improvements.
Talent Acquisition Support:
Assist with recruitment processes: reviewing candidates, meeting with Hiring Managers, assisting with paperwork.
Learn interviewing basics and assist with candidate screenings.
Assist with the onboarding process for new employees.
Learning and Development:
Support the planning, organization, and creation of training programs and workshops.
Help with the coordination and implementation of employee development initiatives.
Assist in maintaining training records and materials.
Benefits Administration:
Learn the basics of Benefits in HR
Assist with benefits communication efforts.
Help maintain employee benefits records.
Assist with New Hire documents
Assist with Termination documents
Support employees with benefits inquiries and issues.
May perform other related duties as assigned.
Culture & Employee Engagement:
Assist with ERGs and other engagement events
Assist with Heritage Month programming
Learn about DE&I work at The Huntington.
Candidate Requirements and Experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred:
Prior HR or office experience is a plus but not required.
Spanish language skills.
Working Conditions
Shared office environment, with open door policy. Frequent interruptions.
Majority of work is performed on a computer at a desk.
Internship Eligibility
Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students (minimum age 18) whose field of study aligns with the internship opportunity.
This internship is available to Los Angeles area residents.
The Huntington will not sponsor J-1 visas for internship participants at this time.
