POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Human Resources intern to support Human Resources team. This role offers practical experience in HR administration, succession planning, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and HRIS technology within a petroleum refining and nitrogen-based fertilizer company.
The intern will work closely with corporate HR, benefits, HRIS, recruiting teams in assisting in HR projects, and process improvement while fostering a supportive work environment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- College students studying Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or other related areas who are entering into their Junior or Senior year at an accredited College or University
- Cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Previous internships/work and/or coursework experience human resources, talent management, and benefits preferred.
- Displays soft skills effectively and promotes teamwork.
- Technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other related platforms/systems
- Knowledge of HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software preferred.
- Out of the box thinking, problem solving, relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Fluent in English, oral and written required.
- Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
During the internship, the intern will participate in the following:
- Regularly Communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns, and questions
- Assist the HR team in yearly succession planning process.
- Support onboarding efforts, preparing new hire paperwork, assisting with orientations or assisting with welcome activities.
- Assist with coordination of various HR related programs such as the college recruiting program.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Effective, accurate and timely communication with internal clients, managers, and employee.
- Ensure reliable, accurate and timely HR recordkeeping while maintaining appropriate level of confidentiality
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures
