About the HR Service Center Internship:
Gain hands-on HR experience across employee support, benefits, onboarding, HR systems, reporting, and process improvement while building strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Program structure:
- Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
- Location: Mequon, WI
- Start Date: January 2027
- Duration: Year-round internship
What we're looking for:
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Human Resources Management or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills to assist employees with questions.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to succeed in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Preferred experience:
- HRIS experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Familiarity and/or experience with HR practices and HR law.
What you'll focus on:
- Provide employee customer service.
- Perform human resources project work, including assistance with recruitment, benefits administration, research, creating reports, and event planning assistance.
- Assist in conducting new hire orientation.
- Ensure timely and accurate HRIS data updates.
- Maintain employee file accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Document and improve processes.
