Overview

Position Summary

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will support day-to-day HR operations with a focus on benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance. You’ll work closely with employees, managers, and HR leadership to resolve issues, maintain accurate records, and ensure consistent, positive employee experience across all locations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate employee relations matters, including intake, documentation, follow-up, and partnering with the HR Manager on case resolution. 
  • Administer employee benefits including enrollments, qualifying events, and troubleshooting questions with carriers. 
  • Guide employees and managers through the leave of absence process (FMLA, personal leave, workers’ comp coordination with Safety, etc.). 
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and ensure timely completion of I-9s, background checks, and required documentation. 
  • Maintain HRIS accuracy, employee files, and audit-ready records. 
  • Provide policy interpretation and general HR guidance to employees and frontline leaders. 
  • Support performance management cycles by tracking deadlines, organizing documentation, and assisting managers. 
  • Prepare HR metrics and assist with reporting for leadership. 
  • Partner with Recruiting, Payroll, and Safety teams to support the full employee lifecycle. 
  • Participate in and help coordinate investigations by collecting facts, scheduling interviews, and maintaining case files. 
  • Assist with training initiatives and HR projects throughout the year. 

Qualifications

Required 

  • 3–5 years of HR experience, with direct hands-on work in benefits administration and employee relations. 
  • Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, leaves of absence, and general HR policies. 
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion. 
  • Ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working in HRIS platforms. 

Preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar). 
  • Experience supporting HR in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments. 
  • Familiarity with ADP, Paylocity, or similar systems.
