AFM’s services include land and wildlife management; land sales and acquisitions; forest inventory, planning, and design; growth and yield modeling; cash-flow projections; environmental and farmland services; appraisal; forest resource data management; and harvest scheduling.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, payroll, benefits, leave, and employment matters.
- Build strong working relationships with managers and provide guidance on employee relations, coaching, performance management, and HR best practices.
- Support biweekly payroll while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide support for employee benefit programs and assist employees with benefit enrollment, life events, and benefit-related questions.
- Coordinate and facilitate engaging new hire orientation and onboarding experiences.
- Support the annual performance review process, including communication, tracking, and manager support.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, surveys, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
- Analyze employee feedback and recommend improvements that enhance the employee experience.
- Manage Workers' Compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work efforts.
- Maintain OSHA logs and complete required reporting.
- Assist with unemployment claims, employment verifications, audits, compliance reporting, and HR recordkeeping.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Coordinate employee training programs, meetings, and HR-related events.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, and other talent management initiatives as needed.
- Provide timely, responsive HR support to employees and managers located across multiple states and office locations.
- Partner with leaders across the organization to ensure consistent HR practices while navigating multi-state employment compliance.
- Partner with the HR Manager on strategic initiatives, HRIS improvements, process enhancements, and special projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and elevate the overall employee experience.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Highly Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Paycom HRIS, including payroll and benefits administration.
- Experience managing Workers' Compensation claims and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and wellness programs.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent HR experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
