Job Description:
Summary:
This position is part of our corporate human resources team embedded within our largest business unit, serving as a liaison between the business unit and corporate HR. The role will focus on partnering with business unit leadership and technical staff to support the functions of human resources.
Key responsibilities may include:

Partnering with business unit leadership to strategize internal and external talent search approaches

Providing guidance during the recruiting process including preparation of job descriptions, identifying key competencies, facilitating the interview and selection process, and developing offers

Collaborating with hiring partners to identify staffing needs and build a strong talent pipeline

Supporting talent management and career development activities within the business unit and across the company

Assisting with development of integration plans and supporting workload management

Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues

Participating in or leading HR projects in areas such as employee engagement, evaluating business unit data and metrics, learning and development, DEI, benchmarking and analyzing industry and competitive practices, or other efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related area
-
5 years of human resources or related experience
-
Knowledge of U.S. employment law

Experience in using HRIS and applicant tracking systems

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
-
Self-initiative and motivation with an emphasis on client service

Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team and build and maintain relationships at multiple levels and across geographic office locations

Ability to constructively approach situations that do not have clear solutions or outcomes

Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future

Possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
-
7 years of human resources or related experience
-
Knowledge of Canadian employment law
-
Knowledge of immigration law
-
Experience with engineering, professional service, or consulting firms with an emphasis on technical recruiting (engineering, scientist, technician roles)

Strong interest and aptitude for gathering, analyzing, reporting, and portraying data in a concise format
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office.
