We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist / HR Advisor to become the main HR contact for the local office and support employees and managers throughout the full employee lifecycle.

Our client is a global leader in the gaming industry with more than 30 years of experience. The Haarlem office has approximately 150 FTE representing nearly 50 nationalities. With offices and clients across six continents, the company offers an international, inclusive and dynamic working environment. The Haarlem location is easily accessible by car and public transport, next to major highways and the train station.

In this role, you will work independently, collaborate with international stakeholders and contribute to a broad range of HR initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main HR contact for the local office.

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee changes and offboarding.

  • Support full-cycle recruitment, interviews, selection and onboarding.

  • Advise employees and managers on HR policies, employment matters and day-to-day HR issues.

  • Manage local HR processes and ensure compliance with Dutch employment legislation.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.

  • Support performance management and employee relations.

  • Prepare payroll inputs, including salary changes, travel expenses, overtime, leave and benefits.

  • Work with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll processing.

  • Manage sickness absence and return-to-work processes in line with the Wet verbetering poortwachter.

  • Liaise with occupational health providers and Arbo services.

  • Administer benefits, leave and other employee-related arrangements.

  • Support training, employee engagement initiatives and office events.

  • Support Works Council processes and related legislation.

  • Prepare HR reports and support HR projects and process improvements.

  • Handle confidential employee matters with professionalism and discretion.

  • Perform other HR-related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • At least four years of broad HR experience, preferably in the Netherlands.

  • Experience as an HR Generalist, HR Advisor or in a similar role.

  • Strong experience with 360-degree HR and the full employee lifecycle.

  • Practical knowledge of Dutch employment law.

  • Experience with Dutch absence management and the Wet verbetering poortwachter.

  • Experience working with occupational health providers and Arbo services.

  • Experience supporting payroll processes and benefits administration.

  • Knowledge of Works Council processes is preferred.

  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • Dutch is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.

  • Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive employee matters.

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Gross annual salary of €50,000–€60,000, excluding 8% holiday allowance.

  • 25 holidays per year, excluding public holidays.
