We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Director to lead and scale our human resources function across the United States. This role is critical in building a high-performance culture aligned with our business goals, ensuring compliance, optimizing employee experience and managing risk.
The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in U.S. multi-state HR operations with strong coordination capabilities, particularly within fast-paced logistics environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Benefits, Compensation & Vendor Management
- Lead negotiation and administration of 401(k) plans, including contributions, fund selection, and provider relationships
- Manage and negotiate multi-state health insurance plans, ensuring competitive rates and compliance
- Oversee relationships with brokers, insurers, and third-party vendors
- Design and negotiate comprehensive employee benefits programs across all locations
2. Employment Expertise
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws across California, Florida, and Hawaii
- Manage state unemployment insurance (SUI) registrations, reporting, and audits
- Oversee and negotiate workers’ compensation insurance, including claims management and cost control
- Maintain expertise in federal and state employment regulations, including wage & hour laws
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws across all locations
3. Payroll & Systems Oversight
- Oversee payroll operations and auditing in collaboration with Finance
- Ensure optimization and effective use of HRIS platforms such as Paycom
- Support payroll compliance across hourly, salaried, and contractor classifications
4. Employee Lifecycle Management
- Lead global recruitment efforts
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes across all locations
- Partner with administrative teams to ensure compliance and employee support
5. Performance Management & Organizational Development
- Design and implement a standardized performance review system across all business units
- Develop compensation strategies including bonuses, incentives, and recognition programs
- Create career pathing and promotion frameworks
- Build and maintain organizational charts to improve structure and delegation
6. Culture, Engagement & Internal Programs
- Build and foster a strong company culture through:
- Employee recognition programs
- Events, celebrations, and engagement initiatives
- Wellness and morale improvement strategies
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment
7. Policies, Training & Change Management
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies across all locations
- Lead disciplinary actions and ensure legal compliance in all employee matters
- Standardize and execute termination procedures across states
- Create and manage a company-wide training calendar (mandatory + development programs)
- Lead change management initiatives and risk assessments
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Strong background in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain environments
- Deep knowledge of multi-state employment laws (CA, FL, HI required)
- Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable
- Proven experience negotiating benefits, insurance, and vendor contracts
- Expertise in payroll systems, preferably Paycom
- Experience managing global or multi-location HR operations
- Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills
