Job Description

Summary  

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, leaves coordination, benefits administration, payroll support, and HR compliance. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of HR transactions while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity. The HR Coordinator assists with employee communications, policy administration, reporting, and HR projects, contributing to a positive employee experience and the effective delivery of HR services.  This position reports to the HR Director. 

The pay range for this position is $26.50 to $37.10 per hour. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience.

Essential Job Functions 

  • Completes and assists with the onboarding and orientation of new hires  
  • Coordinates and assists with trainings 
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions via phone, email, in-person, etc.  
  • Completes HRIS data entry for all phases of employment lifecycle 
  • Trains managers and employees on HRIS systems  
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files  
  • Helps maintain the employee portal  
  • Coordinates and assists with all phases of Leaves of Absences 
  • Assists with benefits and wellness fairs, open enrollment 
  • Processes workers compensation claims  
  • Schedules meetings and interviews   
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files  
  • Assists or prepares correspondence shipping needs  
  • Assist leadership with reports, presentations, and special projects  
  • Orders, maintains, and restocks office supplies, snacks, and drinks    
  • Keeps the common areas clean and organized  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned  

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience  
  • Two years of related experience required 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to engage with customers in a positive and helpful manner   
  • Ability to manage difficult interactions  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures  
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines  
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software  
  • Familiarity with company rules, regulations, and operational standards 
  • Ability to identify straightforward issues and propose simple solutions  
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes, customer flow, environments, and tasks  
  • Ability to be a team player, working collaboratively with others   

Additional Information

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
  • No adverse or hazardous conditions
  • Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
